Folks who painted their chrome trim black?

I know a few people on here have done this to the chrome trim around the window and was hoping to reach out to yall about this and get some pointers.

I did this on my BMW years ago and some pieces turned out great, others not so much. Granted I wasn't using that dupi (sp) stuff that is popular here but just normal rattle can stuff.

Anyway, just curious what you all did. Thanks!

I used plasti dip cans, cleaned off all the chrome trim, taped and masked my car and applied 4 coats I applied each coat every 30 minutes and let the last coat sit 4 hrs before removing the masking it was my 1st time doing it and its held up real well

Use the Plasti-dip before you try real paint. I had dipped my grill to black it out, as many here have (various parts). If you don't like it, just peel off the dip layer. Plasti also makes a gloss overlay spray if you want some shine.
Plasti is $5 a can at Home Depot or online.

I opted to use SEM Trim Black instead of plastidip so it wouldn't be rubberized, and it'd be permanent.

Nicely done! I have some vinyl left over, but I think I may try PlastDip.

Defiantly a way I have been thinking of going. I've only had the car almost 4 days and I love that black instead of chrome.
