I do not have information about changing your headunit, but I just wanted to let you know that AD2P is no longer the highest form of Bluetooth streaming available. AptX is currently the latest (Bluetooth 4.0), offering the highest bitrate streaming and low latency and compression, so I would recommend checking out a headunit that provides that option.

I can definitely help you but it all depends on if you have the orange monochrome screen or the color screen.

I have an iPhone 5 but no technology package so I can't stream BT audio. Not much of a problem since I can connect my iPhone directly and get my music that way. Unfortunately, I'm growing tired of the iPhone and don't like the new 6 or 6+ so I'm jumping ship to the GS5. Problem is that I can't directly connect an Android to the stereo.

This thing works like a champ! B-bye Apple, hello Android!

If you have the red and white AV cords in your armrest you can just buy the adapter for any phone, plug and play through AUX. It's easy and works for every phone. Adapter costs like 8 bucks maybe.

That's what I'm currently doing but I'm tired of having to plug and unplug every time i get in my car.

The convenience of bluetooth is nice. The sound quality is not the same as plugging in my phone though.
