It's on the dirvers side, inboard corner of the rear valve cover.

Once you wrestle it out, shake it. If you hear the inner piece clicking back and forth, it's fine. If it's stuck, clean it out with some throttle body cleaner.

When working, does it have two states, either open or close, or is it a continuous operation? Thanks.

Well, the little piece inside moves to relieve the pressure in the crankcase. When you have it out, it should slide freely, not be sticky at either end.

Is it really ok to just clean it out? I've always been taught to replace them if they are bad, $7 insurance policy.

I agree. I mean you got it out it will be good probably the rest of the time you own the car, so why not just change it once. Like sarmast said it is cheap and then your done.

Here it is, right between the TB and the intake manifold;

This is one of those times that pictures are worth a million words. I would have never found it without this PIC, the thing is so damn small!

Bets thing, just replace it since it costs almost nothing. Mine was still good at 100K miles, but the new one was better!

Exactly. And if your first one lasted 100K then chances are you wont worry about the second one for a long long time.
