I apologize for the late response. Yes, our 75mm Big Bore TB Kit works great with the Kinetix intake manifold since it uses the same bolt pattern as the stock manifold.

this is newbish, but does having a stock air intake kind of limit the purpose/effects of throttle body kit ?

I got the impression it compliments/give better results when you have upgraded the air intake

Thanks Aaron for your great company/products.

You will still see a HP gain, but I would suggest to at least have a cone filter installed to help the engine breath a tad better.

Our dyno tests showed a 8 HP gain on the 03 Maxima with the stock intake tubing and cone filter.

A gutted manifold is also known as an SSIM (Secret Sauce Intake Manifold) on the forums. This involves cutting the shelf out of the main chamber of the upper intake manifold and removing the VIAS assembly. This will still lose low end power and some midrange, but the gains in the top end are very noticeable. It's definitely a modification that is worthwhile if you are serious about increasing top end HP. An extended rev limiter is highly recommended if you want to get the full potential out of the SSIM.

We don't have a Big Bore Throttle Body Kit for the 95-99 Maxima, but we do have 2 products, both of which have been very popular. We have our Phenolic Thermal Intake Spacer Kit and our Engine Torque Link Bracing Kit.

You can check them out here:

No problem. Then you will like having our 75mm Big Bore Throttle Body Kit and 5pc Spacer Kit.

But if you want to have the fastest acceleration possible, you will want top end HP even if it means losing a little low end. If that's the case, then you will like having our VIAS Block Plate or also doing the SSIM on top of that. Those mods will cause you to lose some low end, but the top end gains easily compensate for the loss and you will accelerate much faster than before from 0-60mph or in the 1/4 mile.

But since you want to keep your power below 4K rpm, then don't gut your intake manifold and keep your VIAS actuator in place and only have our 5pc Spacer Kit and 75mm Big Bore Throttle Body Kit installed.

For the 2002 Maxima, our 5pc Spacer Kit will give you a 10hp and 12 ft-lbs of torque gain below 5K rpm.

Here is a link to that kit: http://www.nwpengineering.com/Phenol...rs.html#VQ35DE

And if you remove your VIAS actuator and install our VIAS Block Plate Kit, it will hurt low end power, but since you are removing an obstruction, it will help top end. You will gain approximately 5-8hp on midrange and top end power and your car will accelerate faster from 0-60mph and in the 1/4 mile.

Here is a link that kit: http://www.nwpengineering.com/Phenol...ers.html#VIASB

And we also have our Engine Torque Link Bracing Kit that will fit the 95-03 Maxima. This is not a modification that improves HP, but it will improve throttle response and keep your engine firmly in place on those days you want to drive aggressive.

And here is a link to this kit: http://www.nwpengineering.com/Phenol...tml#TorqueLink

Please let me know if you have any more questions.

sorry i didnt pose my question right. will the throttle body give more hp/torque gains if you already have other mods like CAI, block off plate, intake spacers then if you were just stock basically?

Oh I understand. The more modifications you do, the more of a restriction that the stock 70mm TB will become and the more of a HP gain you can expect to see with our kit. But with the mods you listed for your 2002 Maxima, I would still expect around an 8hp gain by upgrading to our 75mm Big Bore Throttle Body Kit.

This is still on my list of things to do. I'd probably combine with the block off plate. Thanks for making such quality parts for our cars. Still using my spacer kit! Saving saving.....

Sorry for the late response. I didn't see this post until just now.

If you already have our 5pc Spacer Kit, you will still need to purchase our full 75mm Big Bore Throttle Body Kit for $315 plus shipping. It will come with our 75mm Throttle Body, Adapter Plate, Adapter Wiring Harness, and bolts, gasket, and instructions.

Just mark "Yes" to the question on our website that asks if you have our 1/4" thick Phenolic TB Spacer installed. That way, you'll get the longer bolts for the 75mm Adapter Plate that will pass through your 1/4" Phenolic TB Spacer.

Thank you for the reply. I already have the Phenolic Thermal Intake spacer kit, but not the Engine Torque Link bracing kit, because the car will be S/C'd, does the Link can still be mounted ? If I recall correctly it has to be mounted where the Blower is...

Won't work with a supercharger unfortunately.

Yeah, the Engine Torque Link will not work with the supercharger since it mounts in the same location.
