Hey there, I'm a newbie. I've been looking at the Maxima lately to replace my wife's 92 Sentra. I'm concerned, though, with some recent problems on the Sentra. It currently has about 70k miles on it and I've replaced one injector already (1.6L engine). This weekend the same symptoms popped up and I'm about 98% positive another injector has failed. Has this ever been a problem on the Maxima? For me reliability is a big issue. I'm very handy with cars, but I'd rather not be replacing injectors all the time. I also own 2 Hondas, one with 140k miles and another with 150k miles. Both have never had problems with injectors. Thanks for the help!!

I can't say that this is a normal problem on the Maxima. But the maximas do have it's own annoying problems... like rattles, and what appears to be a weak tranny problem, and a few other things... over all though I'd have to say that's it's a reliable car to own.

the 89-94 Maximas have been noted as having to replace injectors often, but I've heard nothing about 95+ Maximas.
fortunately haven't had any problems on my car other than normal wear & tear and stuff I've caused on my own. (engine mounts, brakes, suspension, etc)..
115k on my original tranny and I beat the !@#$)!(@ out of it daily.

I can only speak for my car...

I've got a '98 Auto...I put over 50k miles on it in the last year...and I drive it HARD for day-to-day driving. No problems whatsoever (knock on wood)...
Regular oil change intervals (3-4k miles),premium (93-94) gas, and a couple new brake pads, rotors, calipers, and a new set of plugs...nothing out of the ordinary. It's been a GREAT CAR...though there is that left kick-panel rattle/buzz that occurs when doing hard cornering that I can't figure out...

Mine's been great

My 95 has been the first car for me and for my younger sister, so it's seen its share of abuse. The only parts that failed on their own (not as a result of us breaking them) have been the O2 sensor and the starter. Oh yeah, that's in 101K miles since August of 95.

Thanks for the reply Shing (and everybody else)! Small world, isn't it? I come over here from the CRX forum and who's the first person to reply? A fellow CRX owner and CRX forum member!!
