Keys stuck in gas cap only one FOB

I left my keys in my gas cap so my wife could come and pick it up and when I Locked the doors the gas cap locked. I only have one fob. Anyone know how I can open the gas cap without breaking it?

I would think that since the keys are technically outside of the car all you would have to do is push the unlock button on the drivers door. Have you tried that?

That does work with the keyfob in the gas compartment.
I might add that this method is not a very good idea to hide keys.

Buddy...I doubt you have much of a choice except to pry the gas lid open and try not to scratch the paint. Dunno....you don't by any stretch of the imagination have an OBD-II data logger plugged into the OBD-II port do ya?

A locksmith?? You should probably at least get a copy made of the physical key. Sucks dude...there is no way to get into it...did you try the trunk release?

If the car won't let you in, you're gonna have to move on to other options. None of them easy or cheap.

It's nice that they do that around your parts....around here it's hard enough to get anyone out here at times.

Have someone who knows how to use a slim Jim open the door. Depending on where you live the Cops/FD or AAA or any towing company can take care of it. If you call the PD or FD use the routine call phone #

Slim Jim the door and open the locks, the power door locks will work from the inside without a key...................why would he ruin his gas filler door ?

To get your fob out from under the locked gas filler door just push the unlock button on the drivers door as they are in range of each other. The hidden fob will unlock the drivers door which unlocks the gas filer door. You don't need a bunch of car break in tools for this.

I bet OP figured this out on day 1 and that's why they haven't returned for advice/updates.

If the car is parked in a garage that works but if it's parked outside the gas cap is about as far as the transmitter will work from, being inside the gas cap cover may put it over the edge.

Try it, I placed my keys on the edge of my trunk in front of the spoiler years ago and the doors wouldn't open.

The limited range of the transmitter always frustrated me as if I was with my wife I had to walk closer for her to open the trunk/doors when we were out shopping. We actually started carrying one key fob each even though she never drove the car
