Shocks Info Needed

Hi, I recently, took my car in to get some work done (2013 Max. Will post the outcome when all is done). One of the things I wanted checked was a noise/sound coming from the front of the car when going over speed bumps (best example). It was like compressed air or whooshing sound.
One of the service guys went with me for a test drive and when he heard the sound he said that it was normal for the car to make that sound from the shocks. I've owned a couple of different cars in my time and I have never known that to be normal. For all you experienced Max owners, is what he saying correct?

As a side bar, Im looking to jack up my car to change out my sway bar. Aside form the jack points, which I need to jack the car, where can i securely position the jack stands once I get the car up?
TIA.

yes this is normal, gas shocks. Test drive any maxima and you should hear the same, it's also more pronounced in different weather conditions. I hear mine more when it's warm out. Also next time your in a lot with speed bumps listen to different newer cars going over the bumps, you should hear the same
