I am currently working on a 2007 Nissan Maxima, 3.5 V6, with an automatic transmission. The manual, and markings under the hood indicate that only CVT fluid should be used. I acquired that with not much of a problem, however it was a bit more costly than anticipated.

I went to Napa to get the filter and transmission pan gasket. Yesterday I attempted to do the swap, however I noticed that the gasket did not match the outline of the pan, and the number of bolt holes did not match. I contacted several other auto part stores, but not one was able to get me the correct gasket.

I have included two photos of the gasket kits the stores, and internet indicates I should use. The third photo is of the transmission pan. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I figured out, without any help from here, the filter on this transmission is not serviceable. So, it is fluid change only. This is the first vehicle I have come across that will not allow you to change the transmission filter. According to what I found out from others at a Nissan dealer, the transmission must be taken apart to service the filter.
