This is my second maxima and i am stunned to see how much the 8th generation Maxima has improved!!! The 7th generation Maxima was an okay vehicle which i did not find very exciting. (Note: I came from a 2006 bmw 3 series and a 2008 bmw M3). Once, i saw the 8th generation Maxima in person and test drove it, I was very much impressed. Driving the vehicle is much more fun with the sport suspension that the SR comes with. The power button makes driving in manual mode exciting and awesome! When the car is in sport mode it reminded me of the bmw in sport mode! It is just a blast to drive and it handles well on the corners so much better than the previous model. I just wish it resembled the concept vehicle more. Hopefully Nismo can slowly release some aftermarket performance mods and aerodynamic parts too. Im pretty sure it would not be too difficult to create an aftermarket trunk lid that is similar to the one that was on the concept vehicle. Also, why has no one created any replicas of the 21' wheels on the concept car!!!? They looked pretty aggressive and sporty to me. Sure, i would probably just get 20' wheels but they look nice!! Also i wish the bumper had more open vents to better fit some carbon fiber lips if ever released. I'm just saying, im going to try to mod my car here pretty soon and give it a sportier look while maintaining a classy/luxurious/sporty appearance still. First change on my list are some wheels and some window tint. Ive been looking at some HRE wheels and they have a nice competition/csl look that i like, with some concaveness. Ill be looking at getting an aggressive wheel and tire setup. Next, i will be attempting to get a
titanium exhaust with a sporty note to it that is not too overpowering. I will try to find someone who can possibly create that trunk lid i want. Ill get a lower suspension setup, maybe a carbon fiber engine cover. slowly but surely ill have this ready by summer next year. wish me luck.. love this car

I would love to have a Nismo version of the Maxima. I have been putting off buying the current one since there some quality/fit issue on first year model. So I am hesitating for next year and see where Nissan might bring in the Nismo model.

I am right there with you brother. Not mentioning where but I got a chance to talk to one of the Executive Nissan Managers, and he confirmed with me that there definitely will be a Nismo Maxima in the coming year. That's why I have not purchased the new one yet.
