My 1999 Maxima will not go in reverse sometimes and shifts into neutral by itself sometimes and back into drive. Is this symptomatic of a neutral safety switch going bad or is my transmission probably shot. (It was replaced about a year ago). In drive, it still shifts normally.

 

That's not a NSS issue, go back to the shop that replaced the trans and complain.
