White halogen replacement still yellow?
White halogen replacement still yellow?
Hey guys,
I am in the process of modernizing my 2010 Maxima Sport Tech a little bit by replacing all the yellow lights with white LEDs and Halogens, to match my HIDs. I did the fog lights with LEDs no problem, but for the DRL/high beams (Canadian) it seemed best to stick with halogens.
The Philips CrystalVision Ultra looked the highest in quality and best for pure white.
I installed one and here is the photo. Also a photo of the HID's and new foglights.
The Phillips which is supposed to be 4000k is on the left. The original bulb is on the right. I see no difference whatsoever. It looks a lot more yellow in person as well. What gives? Is there something else making the light look yellow? There doesn't appear to be exterior lens staining. If anyone knows anything about, this please let me know.

The biggest issue is that in the first pic they are lit as DRLs. Which means they only get 50-60% voltage. They're always going to look dim and yellow when lit as DRL's because they're not operating at the correct voltage.
