Exclamation GTR Switch on a 2016 Maxima Platinum

Well, Guys and Gals, the news is finally in and it is not good with regards to installing a GTR on-off Start Button on a 2016 Platinum Edition. I just got my switch in this afternoon and I hurriedly and excitedly went to work immediately upon opening up the package, and to my greatest dismay, the connections are not the same. Matter of fact, there is an additional 2-wire harness clip attached to the side of the OEM switch and for which there are no provisions for installation on the GTR switch. Bummer Dude... as they say...

I was really looking forward to an awesome looking GTR switch on my Maxima Console. BUT, this is not to say that the lesser trimmed models would not accept the GTR switch. With lesser accessories, the additional wiring harness may not be needed, and the switch may be used just fine. Maybe other Modders on the Forum with differently trimmed Gen 8 Maxima's might try this and let us know. Stay Tuned...

Thanks for chiming in. Looks like this little Mod is not doable with the Gen 8 Maxima.

MY ALT Z. If you want it, just do it. It is your car, add your own personality. You have to prove nothing to us other than if it can or can't be done. That's the message I get when I read uniquely modded cars in Super Street and DSport.

Do your thang.

LOL... Thanks Darkwing. Unfortunately, it cannot be done. I'd have loved to have the red pushbutton as my Maxima is red as well. Would have been a nice addition. however, there's too many wires to connect and not enough terminals on the GTR button...
