Stillen kit/Performance mods

Hello y'all I've been thinking of putting on the Stillen kit finally because I haven't done anything to it cosmetic/performance wise in a year and a half and its getting a bit boring seeing the same thing so i want to change it up a little to bring back the excitement of driving it.

But the thing is I still have my 96 rear bumper with 97 trunk/front bumper. I'm pretty positive the 97 rear skirt won't fit my 96 bumper right? So I may just end up putting the front lip and put the rest of the money on helping my car breathe a bit better from all the original parts just being old.. My exhaust is literally is ripping apart in half all the way across. But hey its the original exhaust...Can't complain.

So I know where to get the stillen kit, but on the other hand, Performance mods.. I cannot find any on stillen's website or even on ebay because supposedly It won't fit my 96? It say's it only fits the 01-03 max's.

The Exhaust I plan to put in a OBX or Cattman, I want it to sound similar to a 350z. Is this the right exhaust to put on?

Also I want to change out the stock air filter and put in a cold ram intake? or cold air intake? I have no clue what would be the best to put on in terms of performance/best response. Anyone have any Idea what would be best to put on?

Y-pipe? I think it would be Cattman or OBX right?

Any other performance Mods I'm missing? Nothing that breaks the bank.. like no supercharger or anything like that lol.

I plan to put a Rear lip trunk spoiler as well, cause the car does look a bit naked in the rear.. and a rear roof Visor spoiler would be nice too. Both of them are very cheap. So why not.

Leave your suggestions below, Thanks

Rear valences will have fitment issues, car will still look OK depending if your lowered. If your looking for STILLEN performance mods for the 96. I have a STILLEN sri with velocity stack intake sounds pretty good. STILLEN rear sway bar but needs some serious tlc.

I am lowered on Eibach springs and KYB struts, so the front lip will look good. So are you saying that the stillen kit on the rear will still fit on my 96 rear bumper? Or saying that the car will look Ok with only the front lip since im lowered?

What? Your putting 97+ rears valences on a 96 rear bumper doesn't that tell you anything lol. You know 96 rear bumpers are shorter. Whats wrong with stock look? Better that way if you dont have any supporting mods.

Well I know for sure I want to put the front stillen lip. Since I got the mud flaps. My car is pearl white and I want to paint the lip black.

Also what about performance?

This is how the car is currently looking, with the front lip, trunk spoiler lip painted black would make the white and black color scheme flow a bit more. Also performance mods to help the car breathe better, and fit with the personality of the car... don't you think?

Lol and no front lip? then it would be missing all the black/white color scheme. Mudflaps/ Sunroof Visor are black and personally I would get rid of the chrome grill and chrome handles, but I heard you cannot remove chrome and paint it? So my only solution would be to get a colored handle/grill from a junkyard/ebay and paint it the color I have? right? That would be another thing I would do.

97 rear skirt won't fit on 95/96 bumper covers. I suggest you get a 97+ rear bumper cover. Or, go with Stillen's 95/96 rear pieces (although they're not as nice looking as 97+ IMO)

Cattman exhaust is good, but you do realize you're gonna have to wait for something to pop up? Cattman is long gone.

I do not believe OBX makes a y-pipe. Besides used Cattman or Stillen, you can still get a brand new aluminized or stainless steel y-pipe new from Warpspeed Performance. They're a pretty good outfit overall and their stuff fits properly.

Another good performance mod is either MEVI or 00VI.

For an intake, I'd either leave it alone or go with a Place Racing style intake if you must.

So the plan is looking like this so far..doesn't look like im getting the full stillen kit if I can't get the rears, don't feel like repainting another bumper again when the one i have is in really good condition. Rather go towards more on performance.

Exterior:
Add- Front Stillen lip (Paint black), Trunk spoiler lip (Paint black) Rear roof spoiler (black)
(Roughly $280 in parts, $400 after painting/install)

Performance: Warpspeed Y-pipe and Exhaust? INJEN Cold Air Intake? Feel like im missing something on performance wise. Also never heard of 00VI or MEVI, Is that messing with the Intake manifold??
($ Unknown Cost?)

Also I could do stillen front lip with Ionic body kit? Especially the rears...That is another solution. The ionic rears look almost the same as stillen.

So stillen front lip with Ionic side skirts and rear skirts?

or Stillen front lip with stillen side skirts with Ionic rear skirt?

I'd pass on Ionic D. personally. Stillen offers a lifetime guarantee if you buy new from them, plus it's polyeurathane, not flexible fiberglass like Ionic's version.

Josh, you've been here long enough. You should know what MEVI and 00VI means by now...

Injen is the worst intake you could possibly buy. Heat soak. Heat soak. Heat soak. Take the money you were going to waste on the Injen HAI and buy a 97+ rear bumper cover and have it painted...and keep the stock intake.

Greddy exhaust is discontinued. Megan isn't too bad.

Damn so what is the best exhaust set-up that is available today that isn't discounted? That will sound good and prefer close to a 350z sound and the Y-pipes? What cold air-intake would you recommend putting on for best performance? Any other performance mods I could put on? Help me out. Cause I have no clue what is discounted anymore, all the other threads are not up to date lol. Could look on for ages.

"Straight pipe" the second catalytic converter and replace the stock muffler with something throatier. The motor already sounds like a Z- just muffled by all of the regulations. It's a great-sounding motor if you don't rice it out with a fart can.

I also recommend against doing any of this for power gains. Fuel injection is computer controlled and tuned. It's not like an old carb motor where you can increase the potential intake and exhaust and tune it yourself. The only way to maximize your gains is to make major changes and have it professionally tuned by an expert. You are better off sticking to exterior mods for show. Without slapping forced induction, exhaust, and custom tune on the car, its a lot of wasted money. In my opinion at least.
