Gasoline Odor & Code P1800 VIAS control Solenoid

My SES light is on & the code is P1800. I am also noticing a gasoline smell, not necessarily inside the cabin unless the windows are down & I'm at a stoplight. I also notice it when I turn the car off & get out. My question is could that code cause a gasoline odor or do I have 2 separate issues going on?

P1800 is EVAP related, and I think it's related to the VIAS solenoid on top of the intake. I have the same code along with a P0455. How strong is the gas smell? Because these cars run rich to begin with, so smelling gas isn't a huge deal. But you definitely should not be smelling it sitting at a stop light.

The smell could be related to the code, but if I'm correct in assuming that the P1800 is related to the VIAS, then it should not create a gas smell.

It's not a terrible strong gas smell but it's noticeable. The thing is that I've owned the car for almost 5 years & never noticed any gasoline smell until this week. And the light came on about a week ago. That's why I was kind of hoping they could be related otherwise I have another problem that I'll have to find.

I don't have much experience with EVAP stuff, all I know is that I have a P1800 cause I did the VIAS delete and left the solenoid unplugged.

It seems the gasoline odor is getting stronger, I'll have to try to figure out the problem this week.
