2004 maxima day time running lights don't work, is there a way to turn them on or off , its a Canadian car, i hear there is no day time running lights if its a US car, any help would be appreciated thanks all

 

find the DRL module and re-solder the cold joints under the relay pins. most of the time that fixes the issue. if it does not, inspect the entire unit under the magnifying glass for cold joints and any burn spots, blown components etc.

I don't know in the 2004 Maxima but in my 2006 there is no DRL module.
Just to be sure, did you check that the bulbs were working ?
Did you check the fuse(s) and the DRL relay ?
In my case, the issue was that the control side of the relay was not working.

Your mechanic has no knowledge of electronics, so his only call is to buy the part.
But we know how to fix it, and this is what this forum is for.

Nissan knows precisely how to make these units fail and mounts them vertically. The relays are heavier components, and vibration eventually rattles their solder joints cold. The war of manufactures wage on consumer is disgusting. They are filthy rich but never give up hope to make an extra billion $$ by screwing us over.

 

Tarzan are you sure it's a picture of a 2004 Maxima ?
It's clearly different from my 2006 and I don't see how it could be.
Also I checked the 2004 service manual and there is no mention of a DRL module.
