Will installing new mirrors with turn signals work if I didn’t have them before?

Will installing new mirrors with turn signals work if I didn’t have them before?

I have a 2016 maxima and my side mirrors don’t have blinkers/turn signals on them. I would like to get blinkers/turn signals on the mirrors installed and was wondering what would be the best way to get some. I know you can buy mirrors with blinkers but I’m not too sure they would work since the car didn’t have them in the first place.

Best bet is picking up a set off EBAY with the lights already incorporated. What I don't know is of there are connection pigtails already existant. Should be easy enough to pull a mirror and door panel to confirm. Worse case would be to wire them to current T/S circuit.

I was wondering about similar thing. I bought mirror with the camera like on platinum. Wanted to see if it’s going to work. Anyways I kinda lost interest and returned it back. I was too lazy to dismantle the the door panel.

I did research the connector type on mine and what it had on mirror with cam. Totally different connectors so yeah..

But I kinda wondering about it again. I heard that you need Bose system to work with it.

Seems like a costly upgrade for minimal gain really. Even if it did work in a one for one swap, what are the mirrors worth, about $300-$400 each side? Should have gotten the trim level that had the features you desired out of the box, some of that difference in cost would have probably covered this upgrade, and added several other features you could e enjoying.

While your comment states what is obvious about other trim level cars, - This poster has what he has and I don't think it would cost that much to upgrade the mirrors if he goes the salvage route for the mirrors. To your point though, What is doubtful is to be able to activate the side cameras without the proper body computer to sense the side camera inputs of say a Platinum mirror. Any one else have any ideas on doing this? Would the diagnostic screen has any controls for the mirror cameras?
