Hi:
I discovered a bit of rust on my lower radiator support (on either side of the two bolts from the engine mount). I was able to wire brush it all off and treat it with Rustoleum primer and top coat. I notice from the numerous holes (drain holes?) and unused threaded holes on the support that the metal only looks to be maybe 1/8" or 3/16" thick. I just bought a flexible fiber optic borescope and inspected the interior of the support near those two bolts and it looks like there is an additional plate inside the support and on that support are two welded nuts for those two bolts. (The interior looked to be rust-free so the rust appears to be confined to the exterior.) I was wondering if this is the actual construction or if someone has a photo or diagram showing cutaway cross-section of our lower supports in that area. The only photos I've seen posted are totally rusted out support or brand new ones - no cross sections or other descriptions of constuction.
