lowered my 4th gen now its clicking

lowered my 4th gen now its clicking

i lowered my car with coil overs and changed out my axels and i still hear clicking noise in the front passenger area??


HELP!!!

They will do that if you lower the car a good amount. The height before the bind varies on axle shafts, but not by much.

That is low enough to cause that problem (that's actually pretty low for a 4th gen Maxima). Mine did that at about 0.5 - 1.0" higher than your pic. One of the things I dislike about this car, but it is what it is.

So u think raise it up about 1 inch?? Or more? You still got your 4th gen? Or do you got pics of it?

Mine did it when it was at this height. It wasn't bad on factory axles and would only make the noise during turns (due to leaning). Aftermarket axles did it all the time. I have since raised it about 1/2" I believe and it stopped. Since you are on coilovers, I would say just go 1/2" at a time until it stops then get your alignment after your coils settle.

Right about 1.5" seems to be the limit to avoid collateral issues.

I'm down 3" in the front and 2.30" in the rear on coilovers with no problems. The car is flat because the front arch is 0.67" higher on the body than the rear. I have the slightest, transient (meaning sometimes it is noticeable, others it's not and within a very narrow speed window) axle vibration with new Cardone axles as of 12.5k mi ago that has just never gotten worse since it presented itself. In fact it's smoothed out quite a bit. No issues lock-to-lock or funny sounds. Front suspension for all intents and purposes is the same between 4th and 5th gen. We'll see how long I can get away with a smooth, issue-free ride. The org will be the first to know when ****e hits the fan..

Looks good.. so I should adjust either the front or rear?
