Oooo big fan of the flat gray, dark red seats, and light gray gauges. Reminds me of my cousins old Maxima

Looks exactly like the 2019 Max. This cannot be true (I hope it's not true).

I don't get it, were people expecting them to launch a new generation Maxima? It's an anniversary edition for a low volume seller. The most they would have done was maybe some suspension changes and a special color but there was no way they were ever going to add a new engine or change the exterior dramatically.

Love the color and the interior touches- looks great. I was not expecting anything more than this, so good for whomever buys one, pretty nice looking! I love my 2020...

it’s called the Platinum Reserve. Pay $5-10k less, get lighter shade of seats and wheels.
And you can get in graphite metallic.

The red seats have to go. Why not do a two tone black/grey like the exterior paint? Red is... stupid.

target demographics for the 40th edition...
Want red seats on a decent car? Get a Kia Stinger (who is getting rid of them), Honda Civic Type R, Acura TLX, Lexus, or some other ricebox.
Even BMW and M-B have reduced their red seat options.
Surprised they didn't film a video of the incompetent morons assembling it in Nashville like Acura did with their PMC edition. Should have been called the POS edition.

Disappointed. I was hoping to watch the 40Ann reveal like the 400z proto. Hoping for the upgrades like the Altima. That can’t be the Nissan flagship sedan. Hopefully it’s not true.

There are upgrades... RED seats man! We've never had those before! Let's be honest, things being the way they are in the car world and with Nissan, Nissan probably is going to be showing the Max the door soon. Zero rumors as to the future of it and with the IMs coming in a few years, they can kick the Max out the door, concentrate on the rest of the line and forge ahead with their electric sedan. They've got the Altima and it actually sells, why clog the lot with Maximas that don't?

Dissapointed. Really hoped they would have done more, but I guess their putting all their energies into their SUVs and Altima.

compared to the 4th gen it's an ugly and cheap POS.

Those 40th anniv seats harkened me back to '61. Also quite popular in the 70's...

Since it is becoming clear there will be no 9th generation Maxima, this 40th anniversary edition is about all we should expect. Any major engineering or power train changes would have had to have come with an entirely new generation. I do like the 40th anniversary edition. I even like the 'red' interior. There is one change on the 40th Anniversary Edition that would not have required engineering or power train changes, and that would be another color or two. Maybe brilliant silver as a lighter, but still conservative option and a muted burnt orange for a sort of sporty look. I would not expect the wide range (eight?) of colors in which most recent year Maximas were available.

But my beautiful perfect brilliant silver 2016 Platinum has become such a meaningful part of my life that I will have trouble trading it in for the '21 40th Anniversary Edition.
