Question Any software updates for the 2018 Maxima Platinum since its been out?

Been searching all over and have gotten different answers. My dad bought the 2018 Nissan Maxima Platnum Edition the day it came out which was the end of 2017 I think. I thought you would be able to update the software over wifi but that seems to be 2019 and newer. I read another thread that said you can take it to Nissan and do some 4-hour update but it was a bit vague.

All I see on Nissan is to pat to update the navigation which isn't super important since we use Apple Carplay. But I feel like over the past 4 or 5 years there has to be some updates right? The software has a few issues, mainly every time you plug in an iPhone or Android to use Apple Carplay you need to plug it in, then the screen says to unplug it and then replug it in every time. Why is this needed?

Anyways just curious if there's anything we can do. Does updating the navigation update anything else?
We have an appointment to bring the car in this week so I was just curious.

Thanks!

Those are good questions to ask the Nissan Service advisor when you take your car to the dealer. He/she will have the answers.

Yeah, that makes sense. I just wasn't sure if there were some free updates you can do yourself or what. Like I see on the Nissan site you can pay for newer navigation updates but then I look on youtube and find a way to do it yourself. Wasnt sure if this was the same. Also curious if anyone had the same issues with car play or if it was just me. Thanks though.

2019 was 1st year for over-air WIFI updates for Maximas. I have a 19 and have never bothered with that. There is a searchable discussion on how it is done here by "Lindros" somewhere on this site.

Agree, save the dough, and don't bother paying for the Navi upgrade which is CD based.
