Can't open the gas door on my 2012 maxima. Looks like the relay that operates the actuator for the fuel door is defective. I don't hear any noice when I unlock doors and their is no voltage on the connector, just a ground. Does anybody know where the relay is located.

 

Sure, on the driver's side trunk, pull down some of the "carpet" on the side and you will see it just aft of the fuel pipe.

 

That’s the actuator; there’s supposed to be a relay the supplies voltage to operate that and that’s what I’m looking for. Thanks anyway.

 

Have you checked the fuse/relay layout on both of your fuse boxes?

 

You won't find a relay because there isn't one. Granted this is for my 2009 but you can always grab the FSM for your model

 

The trunk opens with the trunk switch, so the fuse is good.
