Best tire recommendations (2022)?

Any good advice from members here?
19" preferable (<2019 SR, or 2019+ SR and Platinum).

I just had a set of Yokohama YK740 GTX installed on my 17. These were recommended by a prior poster here. I took a shot. So far I love the way the car feels over the originals. And the noise level in the cabin is substantially reduced. Not cheapest you can get but so far I’m very happy with them.

If you want all seasons, I just had the new Bridgestone Weatherpeaks put on since the promo was Bridgestones this month. Only 100 miles in but they've been a quiet ride and smoother ride overall. 70k mile warranty though we'll see if they las that long. I squeezed 65k out of the BF Goodrich Advantage T/A Sports with a 60k mile warranty previously

Thanks all!
I'm on the fence to get new tires now or wait until Sept/Oct deals - 22k (3.5 years) on the Goodyear Eagles and showing major wear (also chunks out starting 8k miles).

I can completely understand waiting. When I first picked up my 16 Plat in April of 2019.l it had been off a lease for about a month and had 27 K miles. I was initially surprised how poorly it handle on corners. I picked up new tires at the beginning of that summer and it made a world of difference. Hugged every corner, did not peel off so much and braked a whole lot better. I am happy that I did not wait too long because I was able to really enjoy the car and learned how to drive it better. During the summer months and I felt a whole lot safer. But that was when gas was $3.50 in NY not $ 5.50. I picked up the continental super sports. I not have 70k miles and just got my second set on the continentals. Really great tire and they seem to change the stance… I think. I may be bias because these maximas have the sexiest lines.

Had this for about a year…wanted something to reduce the firmness of the SR ride…totally pleased…we have Hibdon tires here in Tulsa, OK and I received a much better price compared to the link I provided. Bridgestone Quiettrack - not sure the link worked

I went with the Bridgestone Potenza RE980AS+. A lot less "crashing" over bad pavement (what used to scare me doesn't). Car feels a little slower (could also be other factors). Braking seems similar but more consistent.

Looks very similar to the OEM Goodyear Eagle Touring. Apologies that my car - and rims - are dirty. The white stuff is installation goop.

I had a set of Yokohama YK740 GTX installed on my ‘17 Platinum. I got the recommendation from this forum. Man, what a difference from the OEM. They are grippy and very quiet. The car feels quicker. And the cabin noise that the Continentals caused is now for all intent and purposes, gone. It’s like I’m riding in a whole different car. Very happy with the decision.

Any Michelin guys out there? I probably have at least 10000 miles left on my 19 inch Goodyears and they have 39000 miles on the clock.

I only use Michelins. I'm also down to 4/32'', so my next set is going to be the of these, always from Costco (when they come under promotion), because of their service (free rotations and balance, free patching).

I saw the CrossClimates at Costco.
I went with Bridgestone after good experience on our Honda and my previous BMW (and my GT-R).
Normally I would have waited for the Pilot Sport AS 4 but I've heard horror stories with "feathering" and massive early wear.
(Disclaimer - I'm a Michelin guy - I know a bunch of execs who have been on rotation in the US from France)

No feathering here, but indeed I went through my previous iterations of Pilot Sport tires in less than 25k miles. And that's another reason I buy from Costco: they're always good sports about replacing tires under warranty and issuing pro-rated discounts for the early wear. So I basically get brand new tires every 20k-25k or so, at half price. Works for me.
I'm currently running on Premacy A/S, and at 26k I'm down to 4/32''... 😒 I don't drive it hard (rabbit jumps or hard braking).

I had Goodyear Excellence RFT on my first BMW 535i, and "bubbled" three of them. I replaced with the first Pilot Sport A/S, which were... horrible.
My second 535i had Michelin Primacy (W-rated, I think) which were really good (see below).
The Bridgestone Potenza RE980AS+ just replaced Goodyear Eagle Touring, which only lasted 22k miles - but that was over almost 4 years...

I went cheap and stuck some Road Huggers on my 19 Max, these are the tires made for Discount Tire by Kumho. Just took them on a 900 mile roundtrip. They seemed just as adequate as the Continentals it came with that are double the price.

That said I don't have any expectations of successfully driving them on the ice we get around here a couple times a year, I have no plans to even attempt to anyway.

I'm not a big tire buff so not making any claims these are the most amazing tires for the price but just throwing this out there for the other cheapos like me when it comes to tires.

Continental Extreme Contacts

I have been using Continental Extreme Contacts for about 7 years now (had these on my 2011 max as well). Great tire wet / snow and really solid on dry pavement. Will definitely buy again. When I need them. Good luck.

I just went with a set of these and am hoping for the best on these ZR rated tires. I didn't have time to shop these and went thru my Nissan dealer since I have a flat working on the right rear tire sidewall and was able to make it to the dealer. My old tires had about 39000 miles on my 2019 Platinum. I also got the 4-wheel alignment. The dealer also processed a 120-buck rebate. I had this tire on my previous 2016 Platinum as well and as I recall, they were quiet but average wearing.

How many miles on the Firehawks? Should be a warranty on the tire if it is degrading

Worth a trip to a Firestone dealer to see what they will offer. A long time ago I had a set of Firestone 500s that were part of a recall, and they replaced the complete set free of charge. Let us know how you do. Regards,
