what year is your car?

the VQ30DE has it on the timing chain cover.

the 1st generation VQ35DE has them on the back of the heads just above the bell housing.

Thank you guys. This is awesome.

Question though, I have a 2001 SE and I was looking for the second camshaft sensor. I know once is clear as day on the left side of the engine but hearing there is a second one. I can't find it. Per the document there's only one? There should be two correct?

There is only one. This engine didn't have variable valve timing. The crankshaft and all of the cams are locked together via the timing chain. Te only reason you need a camshaft sensor at all is because the camshafts spin half as fast as the crankshaft. The vg30 Nissan engines didn't even have a crankshaft sensor. They just had a camshaft sensor built into the distributor. The downside there is it takes 2 revolutions of the engine at startup so the computer knows where it is in the timing cycle.

Thank you. I changed the only one and got the sensor from Nissan. Looks like it worked for now. I'll report back. Thanks again for the explanation. Makes sense.
