Looking to improve the turning radius of my 2008 Maxima SE by changing the wheels

Looking to improve the turning radius and ride of my 2008 Maxima SE by changing to 17 or smaller wheels and tires. any suggestions? I have 18 Wheels now.

changing wheels wont help. the stops are in the steering rack or built into the knuckle.
