Wow 21hp from heads + cams

: Below is the link to a NA Z31 with ported heads and Motorsport auto 270 grind cams. Here are the mods the car has. I still have my 260 grind cams and orginal VG heads so I'll just look for a good condition VG 5spd. BTW does anyone want a Protorque high stall torque convertor? I have mine that only had 400 miles for sale. I don't believe I'll get an automagic, but if I did Don is only 35 miles from my house plus I have a stall convertor. With a 5spd I belive a VG wiht headwork + cams (260 grind) would do close to 155-162fwhp without tuning. A 270 grind is around 165-171fwhp, while the wildest 280 race grind should be around 170-180fwhp. But those 280 grinds would require an ecu reprogramming to idle right.

I'm selling the Protorque TC for $300 shipped (I paid $425 new). This TC will give you around 300-800rpm stall increase. I believe I seen a 450-600rpm stall increase. At the lowest amount of throttle with the stock TC it would engage around 1100-1200rpm. With the protorque it engaged around 1500-1700rpm. As for performance at first the TC feels "loose" because it takes more rpm for the car to move. But when you do standing start WOT launch the rpm will quickly jump to 3000 and then your off. I'm sure you know that there is a slight lag between the stock TC launch and when the engine pulls. This TC will allow you to launch right at your torque peak so you get better take offs. I didn't get a chance to test it out because my engine blew . The bad thing about the TC is that if you do only city driving it will lower your fuel economy slightly, but highway is unaffected. Be aware that the tranny has to be removed to install it so you should have the rear engine oil seal and both drive axle seals replaced at the sametime. The good thing about the TC is that when you combine it with a better gear(for us it would be 205/50-15s) you can run equal to or slightly better than a 5spd.
