One of the prongs on the front set of clips on my sunroof slider broke off and I can't keep the thing on the tracks...

If I rip the other 7 off will it be better or worse? I am selling the car and it is just best to keep the slider all the way open or I am doomed to get it hung up while working the sunroof. Is it possible to get a replacement cheap ... i was told by the dealer it is all one unit and I can't just fix that.. i never believe those guys anyway.

I have a '91 SE and I had the same problem. 2 Of my clips broke off, and the slider would not slide. You can not buy the clips - you need to buy a new shade which is a dealer only item and expensive. What I did was take off my sunroof, and pull out the slider.
