Racing with a 97 Accord ex auto

I was racing with a my friends car tonigh, his car have an intake, ractive muffler, no cat converter, lower springs and his VTEC kicks at 2500 rpms, my car its an auto VG stock. in the high way I was in front of him like 5 cars leght and my car was at top speed (the comouter dont let the car go faster) and hi pass me like a bullet he told me his speed meter was at 180 KPH but mine was past 200 KPH and i have factory wheels tires and he too.
Then we stop in the traffic light I was with my brother and my friend, he was with a friend when the ligth gots green I pull ahead him like a car legth but when my car takes 2nd gear it has a problem it slips like 1 second and the finally takes the 2nd when my car did that he start to get me slowly but when he was besides me we have to stop because the other traffic ligth.
Did you have raced before some of this cars?
Do you think hes mods ands too much power and if I get a intake a Ypipe and eibach I can take him?
What can be the problem with my tranny?????
What can I do with the limit speed?

BTW I live in Dominican Republic, we here have NO SPEED LIMIT

arent thoes the 2.2 liter v-tec? because you should be able to beat him if you get intake and a y-pipe exaust would help too but springs are only going to help with the handlind not the speed if he only pulls away slowley then an in take might do it for you because you can get around 10 hp i think

yeah, even the first 170hp V6's(I think ~1997) sucked too! I remember I raced one of those the first week when I got my car, murdered him off the line and everything....no *****!!! basically any auto Honda is gonna suck, modded or not!

Vtec now kicks on at 2500rpms? He's not gonna have any TQ until he revvs it at least past 3500rpms. He must have a serious flat spot in his powerband because his HP cams kick in at too low of an rpm.
