i dont know wha it is my fellow maxima brothers..
i have a 96 SE (auto) all i have is a CAI
n my car has been laggin power... lately...i dunno ...
oil levels r ok .... everythin is in there....

i use mobil super (gas) ...

when i acc. the car has a lag , late power pick up...the tranny does not feel like its slipping...

like somethin is clogged....??

i juss hit 66,000 miles i changed my fuel filter somewhere around 53,000 miles ... and plugs. (summer 2001)

i had the water pump replaced - tranny oil changed -filter 2 in Nov

im goin for a motor flush from nissan..see if that works...

could it be the gas ?? ...

so now im gettin more annoyed with this B8t(h so im sayin ... im goin to the level ...

~ 2002 Maxima - SE - 6 -speed ...the hell with autos ...

like hogan says...yo_its_ ok ..cause in the end it doesnt matter !!

P.S. all that talk bout drivin with the OD off in the street is not workin for me...killin my gas tank ..... dont get me wrong..u feel all the power till about 100-110 then click the O D n ur gone to 140

 

Clean your throttle body and do a search on how to do it. This has been discussed extensively.

 

could be..but i cleaned it last month ...but not fully.... juss the body ...butterfly plate...n whateva i could reach real quick ...i juss used my K&N filter cleaner ... but i juss sprayed it to the cloth i cleaned i didnt spray it into the throttle body... my god... having a car is worse then having a girl ! lol
anywayz...anyone willing to lend a hand in a full throttle body cleaner...??? lunch on me ... !!

I know this is quite an old post, but it sounds like the problem I just had. It seemed to be the fuel filter. I changed it and the car no longer lagged.
