Clear bumper lenses on 2k2.? should i?

a few months ago i bought the clear front and rear bumper lenses from Greg, anticipating the arrival of my car. I finally got the car yesterday and now I'm wondering if i should actually put them on the car or not. I kind of like the color of the stock lenses on such a new car. basically i just wanted some opinions on what i should do. i know its not a big deal because i can always switch them out when i feel like it but i still wanted some input.

Try them out, you can always go back. I had front clears for six months then I got rear clears. It'll make the car look cleaner. Will you get hyperwhite bulbs? Depending on your state laws and police enforcement, you might be risking getting a ticket. I drive by police every day and I got my car inspected, no trouble so far.

they are fairly simple to put on. the 4th gen ones were unbelievably easy. all you need is a screw driver and a rag (so you dont scratch your paint) i hear with the 5th gens you need to be gentle but it shouldnt be hard at all.
you can get them at www.custommaxima.com

5thGenMaximas.com has a good write-up on how to install the clear side markers, and remove the stock side markers. It shouldn't take more than 5 minutes per pair. Very easy to do, but it's also easy to scratch or crack the clear lenses, so be careful.

I say put them on, but then again, it's your car so do what you want. The best piece of advice is to do what you think looks the best. But at least this is a mod that can easily be reverted back to stock.

Hey Ryan,
I got clears on my 2k2...if your coming to the meet this weekend then you can see what they look like..Mine Majestic blue so dern close to black....
the ones from custommax come with front amber bulbs but the rear ones arent red..In VA they tend to get uppity about it but I havent had no probs yet...I will be getting red bulbs for the rear as soon as I find some but everywhere i call is retarded about it.
which brings up a good question..Anyone got a website to get some nice bright red bulbs for the rear sidemarker??????

The closest to red bulbs that you can get are the Polarg ones. They'll stil appear a little picnkish, but they are close. The model is either H-21 or H-20. One is the red bulbs, and one is the amber. You can get these at any local race shop, or www.autofreak.net has them.

On Glacier White they are a MUST ! I put LED red and orange in them....Regular colored bulbs are not of my liking. I used the appropriate colors , to not get a ticket.

I'd go for it. Like someone else said, you can always switch it back. Besides, I think it would look nuts on a black car!!

I'm with you on that. I did exactly the same thing. I don't care what anybody says, the rear clear markers are PINK with red bulbs. Put on your original markers and you'll realize just how PINK they are. Particularly if you turn your markers on during the day. The front markers look great with the Polarg bulbs, but the rears are back to the OE red markers and it, actually, looks better IMO on or off.

FYI...the whole pink thing is exactly why most states make rear markers illegal and the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard also declares them illegal...because no manufacturer makes a red bulb which meets SAE color regulations for red lights on automobiles. IT'S ALL PINK!

If you saw my LED's at night, you would not say that. Leftcoast has the same ones. I saw them on his car first, and I went and bought some. If you think they look pink, oh well....

OK every body Newman already said that this thread is 4 months old......Sooo he has without a doubt already made his decision. So stop posting telling him to put them on.
Thanks
Kloogy: Where'd you get your LEDs? They sound like they might solve my problem.
