Nothing wrong with this article but something you have to remmeber...it is advertising for another company that does not always provide applications in the same fashion as the original K&N...not to say they are not better cause I know they are but you have to decide what you want...function over form and application...I have bought and sold their products before and will again but much like our Maxima's you have to accept the limitations...

K&N is fine...there is nothing wrong.

ok, i read this, and i said to myself, uh... just a little bit of a bias there. i dont think that they would be saying anything about k&n if they didnt have a giant amsoil logo at the top of the page, and were selling amsoil products. obviously k&n is their biggest competitor. this reminds me of politics. and why would the result of a so-called "study" like this one not be talked about in other car-related articles, etc. i dont know, k&n has had the best rep out of any other filter company, so im sticking with them, not to say that amsoil filters arent good. but whatever.

It is only competition for direct-fit stock replacement filters or open element cars and trucks...not cone style or CAI style assemblies...no comparison to those can be made ...

Regardless of what filter you have there will be some "particles" that will get ingested by the engine........

They make no mention on how these "particles" even effect performance or engine life, just that its "bad" .......

No (thank God! ) but I've heard people talking about OEM use of K&N filters, so that must be a good thing!

FRAM sucks, it's just that simple. K&N's are good, don't know if they are the best, but their filters work as advertised.
