i was reading import tuner and in it i saw a civic with doors that went up instead of out ... just like those of a lamborghini ... i was wondering if anyone has ever had this thought in their head and if it's possible to do.

 

Anything is possible with money.

 

That would be cool with a 2door max but not 4.

 

Actually I think it would be amazing if you could get all 4 doors to open up like that. Would probably be the only car in the world that does that.

 

Has anybody done anything like the suicide doors from the older domestic cars?

 

a local shop quoted me about $500 to remount the rear doors suicide style, all it really involves is some welding and moving of the brackets, but it all has to be precise or the door could fall off!

 

what about how the door is secured .. the doors as they are right now the lock slides in parallel to the ground since the door swings out parallel to the ground ... that would have to be changed from parallel to perpendicular to help secure the door
