Well I saw it in the flesh today and it does exist, the new V35GTR was in front of me at Nismo. Lsat Saturday an urgent meeting at the top reversed the decision to now produce over 175,000 units in 3 years RH/LH configeration. Its a beast and it does resembles the concept car a little but they have listened to Nismo and the people and its all go as from Monday morning. release is in 2004.
Here are some of the specs.
weight 1600kg
Engine VQ35DETT
compression/ stroke 95.5X 81.4
Transmission 6 sp man / 5 sp Auto (700ps cap)
power 400ps/6500rpm
4WD Attessa pro 3
Wh/Tyers F 235-40ZR19
R 255- 35ZR19
I,ll get some pictures very soon as they are going too@make an announcement soon.
I placed my order Today!!!!! Its Tuff!!!!!!!!!!!
Regards
Steve (MR-GTR)

OH I forgot it now has the 4 tailights as all GTR,s have, Nismo demanded that from the start.!!!!!!!

I've seen posts from this guy before, I think he is a car dealer and seems to know what he's talking about.........

It's still a concept vehicle. GT-R production (or at least sales) ceased as of last month, and once they iron out a production version of the concept shown here, it will be re-introduced as a 2004 model with a twin-turbo VQ35 with around 400hp, and hopes of bringing it here to the US.

I like the new design and I wish I could get one, but I'm wondering if it would look better if the lower grill and the area under the headlights weren't dark.

The area under the car looks like a bodykit (factory?). So I'm sure you can paint it.

That's carbon fiber, as are the areas on the hood and grille. It's got a deep, dark blue tone to it. You can tell better in this pic that I got of it at the NAIAS (Detroit auto show) in January.

Click here to see the rest of my pics from the show, including 7 more of the GT-R concept.
