disabling stock alarm

i heard it in the other thread so i decided to post up a new thread
about it... you know how if you lock the car before you close the
doors then arm an aftermarket alarm

later when you open the doors the stock alarm goes off
its quite embarrassing... any fuses i can pull or wires i can cut
or ground to disable the whole stock alarm?

im tired of showing off my alarm to girls and then having the
stock alarm start honking the horns...

Just pull the fuse to the alarm that's under the hood. I don't know about the VE, but in the VG it's jsut that simple...

Other option

To pull the plug on the factory alarm. It's located under the dash below the steering column.

Pull the plug, pull the plug! And what do you mean by show off? Just exactly how good is your alarm system? I have a good one on my Stang, just want to know what features I'm missing. =]

disable stock alarm

To disable your stock alarm you need to go to radio shack and get two-50 volt diodes (they come 2 in a pack-costs like 60 cents) the diodes have stripped ends and non-stripped ends...solder the stripped ends together along with a wire that will go to the door unlock signal wire from the after market alarm. and solder wires to either end...then one end goes to the unlock wire and the other end goes to the factory alarm disable wire SOLDER ALL CONNECTIONS WITH THE DIODES they could just pull out if you dont

unlock--------------------====|=(stripe)------- X
fact alarm disable--------====|=(stripe)------- X

X= solder these ends and to alarm signal

unlock is light blue with silver dots at the harness from the door

fact alarm disable is light green and black with silver dots at the anti-theft module

I dont think it's that simple, mine involved some rewiring from the factory alarm outputs and the use of a diode.

Uhh, I wasnt responding to your post....look again...

What you did seems to be pretty much what I did on mine. Except I only used 1 diode.

ok im gonna go grab the factory disarm wire,
hook it up to the (-) unlock output on the alarm
just curious, what is the diode for? to prevent
the positive lock output from damaging the module?

so logically it will disarm the factory alarm when
i disarm my alarm, correct?

that sounds about right, right?

When I had my 3rd gen the diode was not working and the installer had to call dei to figure out what the trouble was, it turns out that all you needed to do was ground the hoodpin so that the factory alarm always thinks that the hood is open, thus not allowing the factory alarm to set.

the diode is there to prevent current from passing from the stock unlock to the stock disarm when you dont want it to
say someone broke your window and then pushed the unlock button on the inside of the door rather than pulling up the lock ****
this would then also disarm the alarm
no bueno

that's why the diode is there

SEARCH!!!!!!
I've posted this many times before too
