I want to put my dads rims that were on his Q45 on my max, and i was wondering what if the tire size for the back is the same for the front. He had like 245,45,17 on his car and they fit fine on my front, but the side wall rubs on the shock in the rear. Tire rack says i need 225,45,17 on mine, so i was just wondering if anyone else had the problem of the sidewall rubbing the shock in the back. Thanks.

 

It is a very common problem on the rear. You could get some spacers and use those but you'd have to measure to find out how thick the spacer should be. 225/45-17 seems to be the norm size everyone uses. How wide are the rims from a Q?

 

The Q's size is 225,50,17 not the one i said before, i got that size off tire rack and thats where we got the wheels from. I'll have to check to see what the sizes are

 

i have only 205's on right now
how wide of a tire can you put on a 7" wheel?
i want to get some 16's, but im stuck with my 15x7's right now

 

You should do a search and see what has worked for everyone else. I have Z32 rims and didn't have to do a thing but search and ask some specific questions and I am hooked up. They are 7.5"x16" with 225/50-16 tires.
