Pics of WS CAI & PR CAI please

I'm gonna order a cai this weeked and I was thinking WS since its only 155 and will do the same job as PR but the pics on their web site
show this ridge in it and anyways I just wanted to see pics of it installed in you guy's cars. Thanks.

btw I also gonna order a 2k2 strut bar, courtesy is back ordered or out of stoc, can I use any 2k2 strut bar?

It's time to dress up my engine bay. If I can find a good shop around here to get it polished, most people I've talked to say it cost them 250-300 for the manifold and valve cover and strut bar.

I know

there both gonna offer the same gains basically but the WSP looked kinda ugly, it looked like it had a ridge down the middle, just looked kinda cheap. And before anyone says anything about how looks dont matter if It gets the job done, they do.. Thats why you bought a Maxima.

yeah ill probably make my order before your able to take pics, but thanks for the input.

it does look pretty ugly
but so does the rest of my engine bay
if ya really want it to look clean

here's pics of the WSP cai...
http://www.ee.utulsa.edu/~mblehm/pics/car/CAI/disk1/

http://www.ee.utulsa.edu/~mblehm/pics/car/CAI/disk2/

disk 1 is step by step installation pics.. disk 2 has the final pics on it.

And don't complain cause it's ugly.. most people's cars have more appearance problems than the CAI will ever have. if you're worried about a ridge in it, then take some bondo to it and paint it again. 15 minutes and it'll be perfectly round. it does the job just as well as the PR for nearly half the price.

yea, to me it looks like its molded plastic or something on wsp's site (I know it says its steel it just looks like plastic) but the pics on Mat93SE site looks great...Matt I didn't notice any ridges on your install did you sand and bondo them like you were talking about or is it on the bottom or do they not have ridges?

You should be able to. Go Lordrandall's homepage - he's got some closer pics of his Courtesy FSTB there. If it looks similar to this in profile (height-wise) if probably will work, but most except the Stillen are pretty similar. For example, those 2k FSTB's you sometimes see on eBay with the round bar instead of the oval bar. Search around the 5th gen forum for some posted pics and stuff. Just make sure the bar is for the 2k2 (and 2k1???) Maxima with the 3.5L engine, not the earlier ones.

Are you talking about this pic?
http://www.warpspeedperformance.com/cai1a.jpg

All of the ridges and lines you see on that are reflections from the filter and lights in the room. all of the tubing is perfectly round 3" mandrel bent steel pipe. no lines or ridges of any sort.
And no, I didn't do anything to mine other than take it out of the box and install it.

Yep, Thats the pic I am talking about I thought it might be a glare or something. It looks good on your install pics though...I just asked if you did anything to yours because you mentioned the bondo and painting. Anyway the price is right and I think that is the one I am going with.

What's this 2k2 FSTB? Will it fit a 92' SE? Courtesy sent me two different bars, and neither of them fit,...then they relized it was a 92 SE and said they didn't have one for that year. Is there a FSTB for my car out there anywhere? Thanks.

What's this search feature?
Yes, it will fit. Bman and Lordrandall are to thank for finding that out. Search for more info.

Hmm.....I dont understand all this talk of the WSP being ugly. What's the deal with this 'ridge'?? Mine looks pretty darn good if you ask me. IMO, paying $225 for a CAI is outrageous..

Well I am not flaming but...You just spent your FSTB money. You could of had a CAI, and a FSTB with the price you paid for the PR CAI. They are pretty much the same, trust me! Matt: Nice pics, I bookmarked your site. So when I get mine I know right where to cut. I dont want to hack mine, like I hacked Bernie2000SE's. Sorry Bernie!
