I think that guy who has the 21's paid around 7 grand for the chrome rims alone. Now throw tires in on that and your probably around 8 - 9 grand or so.

I think he might win

yea but chrome rims are gay. Id much rather spend that kind of money on a quality rim, for example BBS - Kinesis - Fikse - HRE ... but then again those rims are a little too expensive for most maxima owners. Just my take on the thread.

Hey Tony I think you know how much the guy originally paid for mine. IIRC somewhere around $3200-3500.

Everyone has their own opinion. Some people like chrome, some like silver. I don't have the Lowenhart's no more. I have some 19" C2's now. Gonna get some different wheels soon.

C'mon now, let's have a high stakes game. There are some very rich kids on this forum. Let's say $4k minimum ante to play. Common sense says there are 18" rims that cost $800-$1100 a piece, who needs to talk about 19-21"? The width is pretty much maxed out at 17". 18" can be justified based on looks and the fact that even chryslers have 17" from the factory today.

A friend of mine has 19" Oettinger's on his VW Jetta. $1300 each, + another $300 each for the Pirelli's. About $6400 for everything. And he drives on those wheels every day which kind of scares me.

Someone I know has some sort of Spreewells (I think thats how to spell it), anyway they spin inside the rim. They are 22's and ran him around $22,000 for the set with tires. I know they are chrome and I am not sure if they were custom made or not. It's not on a Max though, its on an Escalade.

Folks $7000.00 for rims not to go against that but you can get some 18inch SSRs that weigh 16Lbs with tires for $2600 from the tire rack and still have money to get a supercharger for $3400.00. I dont know thats the way I think. But if you get looks and light weight for that much money knock yourself out.

$42k for rims. I think I'd sell the car and save the money from the rims and import a Skyline R34.

Looks vs speed. Always comes down to the earth shattering question.

With that kinda price the rim mfg. is laughing all the way to the bank. I could understand if you have a Porsche Carrerra, you're not gonna put $500 rims on your car if they aren't even as good as stock. You'd definitely go anywhere from $850 to $2000 per rim. But let's use our heads,an 8k rim for a Maxima. Can you say silly?

What's so wrong with that? If they can afford it and choose to buy them, then great. Some people are willing to pay for quality, others are not.

well there is nothing wrong with buying a set for 7k.

its their choice. but i doubt the quality of the 7k rims is better than other rims. maybe just the look.

the wheels that spin are Dalvin's ... they are made by HRE and sold under the name of dalvin ... that is the version that was on MTV.

They keep spinning when you stop bc when you start going again it gives the illusion that your accelerating *sp* at extreme velocities....

Im surprised APC hasnt made this for honda guys yet.. lol
