are there any DIY mods i can do to make my car run better??? like removing something that's not needed?? i don't even know what to ask. and i did use search, so noone can yell at me for being lazy. i'm gotten tuneup and stuff...anything home brewed or you guys have tried...ex-advanced timing(about all i know)....thanks if you can come up with an answer

Ummm....You could remove your door moldings. That's free (although doesnt make your car run better) and looks good.

 

Craig's page has alot of nice stuff on it. Performace maybe only clean throttle body and advance timing on a VE. But check it out, cool stuff!
