my friend drove my 96 (automatic)home from school last week for spring break because i had to drive my 2k2. he asked what i got it up to and i told him 134. he told me "it felt like i hit a wall at 120" i dont recall how long it took me to get to 134 but i dont think it was THAT long. its not a speed limiter or anything, i guess its just that the car doesnt have much power at the post-120mph RPMs.

yeah Ive gotten up to 132 but it takes a while the drop in pull comes about 124mph wtf is 160 on the dash for. When I first bought it I was thinking it might be able to do about 140-150. hehe

My Max pulls to 134mph quickly you have to make sure the OD is off till redline then hit the OD button!!!!

for the record when i hit 134 i didnt have O/D off. and remember, this was in my 190 HP automatic. although, i did happen to be going down a slight decline (maybe 15º) for the last few hundered yards at the higher speeds. im sure that helped.

I thought I was the only one. I love how I can just leave it in 5th gear at 65 and just cruise up to 120 pretty quickly, but then the car seems almost "artificially" slower. At around 120 in fifth gear is when the VIAS should switch over, maybe the ECU prevents the switch? Or maybe its just me?

Maybe you guys should check into a little somethin called aerodynamics... After a certain speed, the coefficient of parasite drag increases exponentially. This speed, also called drag coefficient, depends on the car. This is the reason for low front spoilers and air dams on GT cars, etc. I doubt what you guys are feeling is the ECU, it may be just aerodynamics saying "hey, whats up, past 120mph in that car? Uhh, no." Happy revving!
