I see a flaw with the new G35 interior
I see a flaw with the new G35 interior
design. The were in such a rush to bring it here they left all the controls on the wrong side. Check out a pic of the waterful dash(beautiful i may add). The climate/stereo/hazzard/ buttons are all the right, perfect for a right hand drive, but not a left hand drive. Even the gear shift +/- is on the right. Again, why push the shifter away from you when it should be comming to you. This is cost savings at work here.
BUT, i love this car. I'd take it over a 2k2 maxima.

For a car that costs over 30 grand, the interrior lacks big time. No way I'd pay anywhere near that price tag for that car. It looks and feels cheap inside. FORGETABOUTIT
Saw the car today at the dealer. Sat in it. Feels very cozy and narrow like an is300. Actually I made all my comparisons to an is300 because my friend has one and I ride in it regularly. The plastic interior of the g35 feels no different than that of the IS3.
The only thing that I thought they could improve on was the steering wheel with it's cheap looking silver switches that look like wider versions of the window switches off an accord.
Styling, the first thing that caught me was the rear of the car. Looks very tight. Just the way I like it. And then from afar it reminds me of an A4.
Didn't get to test drive the car cause I didn't have enough time. However My first impression of the car was great. We'll see if that changes once I drive it. But all indications from the sales people that got to drive it at a track say this car hauls and handles like a 330i.

I drove one tonight. First impression was not bad. But they won't go below msrp for the first 6 months so I said forget it.
Smaller diameter steering wheel is nice. I don't like the window controls way down on the door. Shifter in a nice high position though I don't like it's shape. Leater seats a cushy and comfortable and a bit narrower than the max's. Lether is quality. Adjustable rear seats and headrest are a nice addition. Seat controls on the right and the memory is way down on the left. Guages are nice. Hard to get out of the rear seats (I'm 6ft.) though the do open squarly.
Perfomance is good. Only got on it once for a short time since the guy was with me. RPM's spool up quicky and shifts don't seem to drop to low in the rpm range, maybe due to the 5 speed.
I'm sticking with the 6-speed Max.

I did hear they were putting TTs (among other things) on it and then calling it a Skyline.
