Why do you want an SUV?

wasn't there some rumor about a twin-turbo Chevy Trailblazer?...now that would be fast for an SUV

plus...i personally don't like the look of the Envoy/Trailblazer/forgot the other one

but if you're lookin for a good SUV, with everything, but not really concerned with fast acceleration and the such...Nissan Pathfinder baby!...I own two, they're sweet!..not exactly what you'd call the fastest (0-60 in 8.9)...but SUV-wise, they put up some good competition...and i think they're powered by the same powerplant as the max

Very nice SUV, I drove them at work all the time, and I do like it better than the TrailBlazer. . . It would be my first choice for an SUV if I had to buy one, but I don't know if it is worth the price they are asking.

The Envoy was Motor Trend's truck of the year. I would go for the Trailblazer instead. Same powerplant for a cheaper price.
I prefer the Pathfinder myself. Stick with Nissan. The Infiniti QX4 was just named the most trouble free truck by consumer report (?) and the pathfinder is its twin. Also, a little known fact is that you can get the Pathfinder with a 5spd manual.

Actually for an SUV, I think the Toyota Highlander is a pretty good choice. How many us really go offroading? The Highlander's AWD is perfectly good for snow, and almost any two wheel drive vehicle can drive on a dirt or gravel road. Besides, if you really go offroading, you wouldn't want to take your $35k SUV there anyways.

The Pathfinder has a great V6, but its ride and handling are pretty trucklike compared with the more refined Highlander, which is pretty much a clone of the Lexus RX300. And I think we can agree that the RX300 is a pretty tight ride. But if you really want to hit the rough stuff, I would pick the 'Finder over the aging 4Runner.

Just don't expect it to be faster than the Max.
