Dang! I shifted at 6802rpm!!

coming back from the Neptune's Net(apparently this was the restoraunt that was featured in the Fast and the Furious...after they race the Ferrari) with other Maxima peeps.....saw a car coming fast and tried to get in front of it(so i don't get left behind our caravan)..tires hit loose gravel, lots of wheelspin, adn the tech shot up like nobody's business....later i reply the rpm reading and it said i shifted at 6802rpm!

i have a APEXi RSM...guess all those mods gave me more top end power than i thought or the RSM just takes care of the rev limiter..and no, it's not good to go over redline all the time..but it sure feels good...

Your tach is off. 6800rpm that is pretty high, my old VG had a 6600rpm rev limiter, which I hit on ocasion.

Re: Dang! I shifted at 6802rpm!!

I once bounced off my limited 15 times on a mountain drive, freaked out during the first couple of times. But just keeping stomping the go pedal after that. Really love abusing the **** out of it, but seems like its good for the car!!=)

my tech has nothing to do with it...the numbers are from my RSM, which is receiving signal from my ECU..so it's not off...

Well I used to shift at like 7200-7500 rpm in my old SHO. A overhead cam motor is not as delicate as a pushrod motor. I have to be real careful not to overrev my LS1 as anything over 6200rpm is pushing it.
