Buying new rims on Friday, which ones?

Either the Centerline RPMs 17" in black or the Konig tantrums 17" in silver? They're going on my 2k2 Grey Lustre.
RPMs weigh 13.5 lbs. don't know how I'll like black wheels on my max but they look so good on the car in the mag ad
Tantrums weigh 19.4 lbs.

Another ?

Why does Centerline call these Front wheel drive wheels? I thought a wheel was a wheel. What's the difference, or is it marketing?
Thanks

Centerline RPM's

Konig Tantrum

Konig Tantrum 2 (2002 model)

I say, RPM's (white looks good), Tantrum 2 then Tantrum.

Do yourself a favor . . .

Whichever wheels you buy, make sure they have AT LEAST a 7.5" rim width. You'll be able to avail yourself of a much wider tire selection if you do.

I have 225/50/17 tires right now, will they fit on a 7.5" rim with NO WORRIES?

Yes. 225/50R17 tires are rated for rims ranging from 6" to 8" in width. More importantly, 235/45R17 and 245/45R17 tires, the usual upsizes for the 225/50R17, REQUIRE a minimum rim width of 7.5". A lot of people on this forum ignore that thorny little fact.

Front wheel drive wheels typically have a much higher positive offset (north of +35mm) whereas a Mustang for example would be riding on +20mm of offset. It's more of how the wheel is designed and manufactured to take such extremes in wheel offset measurements.
