Taking apart Center consol and dash!

Taking apart Center consol and dash!

i am tryin to change my deck.... its not working to well. how do you take off the center console and dash. specifically how do you take out the deck and etc. i have figured most of the rest of the car out.... just not that one section. i cant find a single screw (well i found one under the "ashtray" but thats all) any suggestions?

I have never done it but I will have to do it soon. I bought a aftermarket stereo kit and this is what instructions say:
Open your ashtray and take the lining out -- there will be one philips screw there. after that you should be able to remove lower part of the console. Then you have to pull the center vents out -- up and towards yourself, now, I heard that is a pain in the ars, because you can break it if not careful. After all of that it should expose all the screws necessary to free up the factory radio.

Use the prying tool (looks like a large-head fork with curved ends). Makes pulling the AC vents out a lot easier.

Dont forget the rag on your "pry tool" or you will gouge the dash!
