cutting OBX shifter

Hey everyone. I ordered the OBX STS because I didn't want to wait on the Pacesetter which is on backorder. Here is what I am thinking: The OBX is stock height but shorter throws. I'd like a shorter shifter as well. So instead of a hacksaw, can I dremel the OBX 3 inches or so? Has anyone tried cutting the OBX using the dremel or any other method? I saw some have cut the stock shifter. I assume since it doesn't hurt the stock shifter, it won't hurt the OBX? Thanks everyone. (FYI...I have a MOMO shift **** so the screw threads at the top of the shifter are not important). Thanks in advance.

Aaron
