Never drive your own car to New York
Re: Never drive your own car to New York
Yeah your right I go up just about every weekend and stuff keep happening but since I park in a friends drive way more than less the pot holes mess up my alignment. And the stop and go kills my brakes.

You guys are stupid. You are going to New York. Why would you take a nice car up THERE? You deserve what you got.

i wonder why i see benz, bimmers, and on a few occassions vipers in the city?
Don't even think about driving down the WTC-ground zero area... the streets are terrible!!!
I got so many "chips" from 3-trips there!!! DAMN HALF-A$$ NISSAN PAINT JOB!!!
But, I NEVER park my max in the streets there. Only parking lots for my Maxi! Yes they are $35++ and I tip the guy $10 to "take care of her"... but it's worth it. The parking attendents are usually surprised when they see a $10... And they also park it up front, ready for me to be the first one out (can you say VIPO, baby?) Now I'm not wealthy, but don't these wealthy NYC MF-ers tip well??? Oh well.
BTW: ground-zero area is horrible... my 2000 Blazer almost fell apart there!!! (I know, I know it's crap to begin with
)

IMO, people who park their cars on the street don't care about the condition of their cars.

but I do agree that NYC roads are a major f*cking mess.
Every street is a god damn obstacle course.
Oh and by the way....I happen to live by NYC and I drive
my car into the city (my office is in midtown) all the time. I am a pro at avoiding potholes......not necessarily
good at avoiding pedestrians though.......j/k
Everything said here is true... you have 2 options in the city:
Park way out on either the East or West sides and cab it in.
Drive your car like you don't give a sh*t and park it anywhere (I suggest a hidden fuel-cutoff switch if this is the case.) Road dings add character, baby! And no one likes to get walked by a car with a dent or two in it. Ultra sleeper!
As for those gents (and ladies) in the Ferraris and Porsches, they're usually so damn rich that they could give a sh*t. They're usually leases, and they know the best body shops if they get bumped now and then. When you're making 500k a year, a car is really of no consequence. It's the rest of us blue-collar slobs that just shake our heads in amazement.

I was born and raised in NY. I lived in Queens and drove into Manhattan all the time. I bought my 89 LX there. I have more paint chips on my Maxx in a month and a half than I got in NY on my stang in a year ! This is a moronic comment. If you just dont like NY, say it. Those of us who are NY-Kers, or used to be, wont be offended, since any good nY-ker really doesn't S#$% what you think.
I'm going there this summer, I'm from Canada Toronto so the trip is 8hrs~ one way.... should I take my car or my dad's van.... I dunno if I cna stand driving a hon duh odyssey for 16hrs but I don't want to mess my car up
