shifting 101??

I am not a very good driver............well, my 2k2 max is my FIRST man. transmissin car.

So....to all the Vets out there....any pointers and suggestion on how to drive (when to shift?)to get best time (0-60 , 1/4 mile etc)?

I know it's different to everyone, and since a poor driver (aka Moi)
will make the car 2 sec slower....
I'm hoping for tips to well....not ruin the maxima's rep. (lame excuse huh? )

Thanks guys!!

You have got to practice

When you have a chance, say at a stoplight, practice your launches. If you can learn how to launch around 2500K to 3000K rpm, letting the clutch out smoothly you will minimize spin and wheel hop. Once you have mastered the launch the rest is easy. BTW - be careful were you practice.

Re: You have got to practice

There's some truth to his post. Anytime i launch at that rpm range (e.g. auto), if i let go of the brakes too fast i just get wheelspin galore.

Heck, even just flooring the gas pedal from stop i get wheelspin. The technique is to find the fine line between going fast and going nowhere fast.

A Shorter throw on the 2k2 shifter would be very welcome...
