NEW AFTERBURNER EXHAUST TIP (glows)

i just went to Autozone and they had this new exhaust tip which has a bulb or something in it so when the car is on, it emits a bright light! Looked so hot, comes in three different colors, blue, red, green, and orange. I'm thinking bout getting it, in fact, i will get it but want to do more research on it. I guess it shares same power as back lights and if i got it red like my back lights in the night, it would look so hot...when i get it, i'll let u guys see pics of it at night, but that won't be for like a week or so, but do any of u know about this? it costs 40 dollars and it's name is

Redline Lighted After Burner Exhaust TiP

Quest Industries Inc.

i'll look it up on google but u heard it from me folks

Please do NOT install this or anything resembling something like this while you still own a maxima. Us Maxima owners will appreciate it greatly.

why do you think it will be bad? I mean, it gives people something new to look at from back, u got diamond cut bumpers and fogs in front and this tip (not those real big ones u see on them old acura's and honda's) for people to see from back...seriously, it looks like it would be hot on any car...do u say this because i have a rice color or because it doesn't look good on maxima's? it beats that skinny pipe thing i have....

in general, for something that is really cheap (that exhaust thing, neon tire caps, etc.) that is added to something expensive (exhaust, tires/wheels, etc.) the thing is junk and will not improve the overall look of your car, just a ticky tacky addition

thats unless you have a HONDA, those are not only 5 HP, but they provide an extra bond that holds them close which is needed when you spend money on that crap

Oh God, please don't. There are enough idiots out there who spend their money absolute stupid stuff like that. You can donate the $40.00 to me.

STOP THE MADNESS! Just quit buying anything for your Max that says "glowing" or "turbo" or "chrome-tip" or "flashing" or "blinking" or "racing-style". When I see *any* car with this kinda crap all over it, I just laugh...

When I see it on a perfectly good Maxima,

Just stop. Save that money to buy something that will actually benefit your car in some way. Who are you trying to impress by making your exhaust tip glow? Do you expect someone to see that and go "Oh my gawd, that looks so cool, will you take my picture with me standing by that tip?"... well a honda boy might to that... then he'll follow you home and steal it right off your car.

I can't stress this enough man.

Please No!!

I've seen these a couple times on the street (Once on a honda, once on a galant). I was waiting till someone brought it up on the .org...

It's your car, so I guess you can do with it what you please...but don't.

when i went to montreal, EVERY 4 banger had the glowing windshield washer nozzles. Since the city I live in (buffalo) is way behind on these things, I suspect every glowing windshield washer'ed 4 banger in Montreal now has the glowing tailpipe (as vehicles here are JUST employing the glowing windshield washers). you dont see many larger, more luxurious vehicles with "glowing" tack-ons. these tack-ons are usually reserved for the smaller, less expensive vehicles (ie, honda civics) that feel they must compensate for the lack of REAL luxury-oriented features by employing the use of glowing/flashing devices to attempt to steal visual attraction from our nicer cars. enjoy the looks you already get...

It's your car, do what you want. But, if you get it, everyone will laugh at you...just be ready.

And when people said you should get a rice color banner, they were not referring to your car as being rice color. They meant that banners are rice, so whatever color you got...that would be rice color.

if you dont like your skinny tip, get a 2-2.5 inch tip from a performance store and get it welded on =)

dam, u guys just keep sneaking me in my jaw! I was really looking forward to buying this, not for performance, not for better driving but for the same reason we all buy chrome rims, the reason we buy diamond cut bumper lights, the same reason we tint our windows (well i did), so people can look at my car and say "wow, this is something different. Looks hot, first maxima i've seen wit this, hmmm, i might get one also."

It looks like a regular tip, nothing sticking out, no holes or anything, it's just that instead of being one BIG hole (or bigger than stock maxima hole, it's a small lining inside, like two holes, one in center and, well, let's see, it looks like....like a washer, u know how it has that little thick width...but that width isn't solid, it's a hole and that's where the light emits....i really think it might look hot and although i should put this money into some brighter bulbs or to speed up my chances for getting my y-pipe, it's a mod i would love to have. Most mods we do for looks are hard to see by other people. Like my stereo and indiglo lights, they have to be close to see these lights or have my window rolled down. This mod speaks for itself, when someone is behind me they will see it and that's that....

I just wish i had a guinea pig to test how it would look on a maxima. Oh well, i'm willing to be that guinea pig and if it takes being laughed at and losing respect from my fellow maximus owners, then so be it...but if it does look hot and u guys start getting them, remember who started this whole thing....gotta take chances, otherwise, we wouldn't have a y-pipe, or a Variable Intake (hopefully) or diamond cut bumpers...u know? if anyone has pics of how this looks on a max, let me know thanks

Please. This thing is the same league as washer lights and valve cap leds. Designed for people w/ money and no sense for real automotive mods. You asked about them and we told you. If you want them, go ahead. Don't expect any sympathy from anyone around here. Maybe you can rally with the Altezza crowd.

You guys are just a bunch of haters. If he thinks its cool, then he should just go for it. i dont know why he is asking your opinions anyway, you guys are just a bunch of narrow-minded max drivers.

Just don't complain when people don't respect our cars or imports in general. It's this kind of cosmetic crap that gives our cars a bad image. Everytime I see that stuff on cars, I wonder when the rest of the circus is coming in.

We have made this same argument a common theme for everyone to b i t c h about.

FINAL ANSWER: Just put it on, $40 isn't that much, then you can see how it looks. Take some pictures, I am sure there will be at least one person who doesn't like it. If YOU don't like it, post on the for sale forum, or sell to some guy with a honda.

*Don't worry about people on here think. It's okay to ask in a thread wishing for the best but if they dont' like it, don't get discouraged, just think, you'll be the only one with it.

When people say they wouldn't like it, it's fine. Bad .org etiquette comes when they start saying stuff like "give me a break, please sell your maxima, you are making all maximas look bad" thats crap, so it's your car your money.

Your sig pic makes your Max look like it's about to jump a Gazelle.

"Here we have the predatory Maxima Automobilius. It is an elusive and dangerous creature.

Watch as it stalks this unsuspecting Honda and it's baby, Del Sol."

Hell, I'll give you a free Variable Intake if more than 100 Max owners on this forum buy them.

I'll even fly someone out and have them install it for you.

I was thinking of installing a spark plug somehow in my exhaust so i can blow flames, but this is better, and it doesn't require fire. Man I'm gonna love this. Seriously, I'd rather drive a 4 cylinder mustang than a max with a glowing muffler.

Hey, i'll buy it too if I can hookup a propane tank in my trunk and shoot 6 foot flames out of the back at WOT (like the batmobile). Maybe Shadow can hook us up??

***UPDATE***

just went back to the store just to take a second look at it and realized that it's gonna stick out too much. I looked at the pic on it's box and shows a car (acura) and it's like sticking out a little too much than what i wanted...so i won't be getting it , but i also realized something...my pipe is bigger than other maxima's....i was parked to this blax max today and it had this real small skinny pipe, my pipe has a small pipe too but outside of it is a chrome type pipe which is probably the same size as the opening for the y-pipe, but doubt it...interesting ehhh...is this cause i have a GLE? or do i get special treatment cause i'm mecca
