We got 190 HP and 210 TQ.

His engine mods are
- SHO Shop Yellow Cold Air Induction
- Auto Lite high grade spark plugs
- Motorcraft spark plug wires
- CenterForce Dual-Friction Race Clutch
- Removed resonator, now running freeflow piping
- Performance-Plus stainless steel 2¼" y-pipe with high flow cats
- Custom mandrel bent Borla 2¼" cat-back w/o resonator
- 2 3ARacing polished stainless steel mufflers with 4½" tips
- Superchips 1100 module for ECU

And he strted with these specs
Yamaha 24V DOHC 3.0L V6 with 220HP and 200TQ (stock)
- 5-Speed transmission (stock)
- 260HP and 235TQ At The Flywheel (estimated after mods)
- 0-60 in 6.8seconds and 1/4mile in 15.1seconds (stock)
- 0-60 in ??seconds and 1/4mile in ??seconds (info coming soon)
- Stock curb weight for my car is 3,424 pounds
- Bought my 1993 Black MTX SHO April 27th, 2000 for $6500
- More specifications for my car coming soon

If he really has that 260 he is talking about then that could play a big factor. Your weighing in a little lighter than him but try it. Plus if you beat him stock or even run up close then you should be happy considering he is already modded out. It may come down to how good you both are at shifting etc. But it looks like he can take ya overall.

Ask Jeff92 if you'll win. I am sure he knows the answer. Line em up, and find out.

I think if he has mods done and you are stock you will lose. I raced a 93 up to about 125 mph, with just an intake on the Tortis SLO and barely won. I had HAI, Y, Catback on Max. We were both auto though also......

the outcome wasn't very good for sho owners. it seems they split the races. there is a reason though. edien (the sho owner) dynoed his car and it was running dangerously rich. it was traced back to the 02 sensors. so, they will have to run again. he needs to check that the rich condition didn't destroy the cats as well.

see ya,

Well WHEN you get your Maxima, I'd suggest you do some mods: Y pipe, intake, exhaust at least. Even then, I'm not sure you have a great chance with the amount of mods that he has. Ya never know what can happen on the street though. Good luck.

from what i understand the 89's came through with 225hp, not sure about the torque. those things are real quick. yet another 4door sleeper i have respect for!

if he is even half way decent at shifting he will destroy you if you are stock. If you throw on a few mods ie. intake, exhaust, y-pipe you should have a fair chance, and i think you could actually take him, but be warned, if you are stock i garentee he will kill you

I had a 91 SHO 5-speed, then gave it to a friend recently and bought a 99SE 5-speed. The two cars in stock form have comparable performance, the SHO has 220HP versus 190HP for the Max, but the SHO is heavier. My Max "feels" faster, but it could be that it's just a smoother ride than the SHO. The SHO has a great engine (Yamaha), however the rest of the car is Ford quality. I do enjoy the "sleeper" status of my vehicles.

I work with a guy with a 93 SHO, we have raced a few times. When I was 97 auto, it was close, I was modded, him just an intake. Now I am 99 5 spd., same mods and I burn him, not badly, but I win nonetheless and he has exhaust now.

Here is the difference: He has spent thousands of dollars fixing all the junk Ford parts in his car. A couple of trannies, some other stuff and he is actually on his 2nd engine, despite it being a Yamaha. He claims the engine is quite powerful, which I believe. But, my car never breaks, I drove my 97 to 100k without reparing it once. To me, our cars are very similar in performance, but I can spend my money on mods and he can spend his on repairs, thus I will ALWAYS be ahead of him.
