Have you guys ever taken off your CAIs and seen the tube inside. I am curious if any of you are seeing rust in the first and maybe the second dend (after the filter).
Also, have you guys noticed rubbing spots on the main tube enough to rub off the powder coating (I have a silver color one and the spots are now rusting).
Is there any way to set this in a rugged form so there will be no play, no rubbing and no rust?.
Do you recommend powder coating or painting?. Where would you have something like this be powder coated?. Do you think it makes sense to paint slick type rust-proof the pube interior?.
I am concerned with contaminants entering the cylinders and damaging the valves.

Thanks for you time,

Attn Kafene: ? about your CAI

I read that you said you made a CAI. Do you own a 4th gen Max? If so, can you tell me what materials you used to make the piping and connections. I've got the HKS intake and I'd like to run pipe into the bumper to get a little cooler air. Thanks.

velcro

my bro had that problem with his obx in his lude. waht i did to fix it was i took the soft wool side of a velcro and stuck it on. never had any problems since. as far as teh powder coat and clear coat, it won't work. on my bro'z obx the friction was so bad that it rubbed into to metal. his was anodized blue and it rubbed into it until it turned silver and gave it a flat spot. it rubbed against a wiring harness or sumthing i forgot. but now he has a carbon fiber arm. it's kew.. but as far as your rust problem goes, sand it off with fine grit sand paper, then spray a clear coat over the sanded part to prevent it from rusting and u'll be grand.
