Infiniti g35 Auto Motor Trend

I read on Freshalloy.com that someone said the G35 Sedan AUTO got 5.9seconds 0-60. If this is true.........
I'm going to burn my Maxima and claim insurance and get a 6-speed.
If auto does 5.9 Imagine what the coupe w/ more horsepower, less weight and 6-speed will be able to do.

Saw a G35 already

I was on my way to work about a week ago and had one pull in behind me. I noticed the infiniti logo on the front and thought..., just maybe..., I wonder if that's one of the new G35's

I slowed a little to have a better look and he went around me on the right. Nice piece. Silver, nice front end (kinda shaped like a 3.2 Acura with a silver grille), a *very* interesting tail end, the lights were kinda like LED chevrons and some kind of emblem in the middle. "G35" on the r/h side of the trunk. Had a dealer tag. Without seeing more, I thought it was a nice package.

DK what the waiting list is but definately worth a test drive.

C&D according to Freshalloy buddy says it has 96mph trap with 14.9 seconds. (which sounds about right to me) My conjecture on 0-60 is probably notch higher than 5.9... probably 6.2 (doing fair comparison to GS400) Isn't 5.9 usually reserved for low 14s cars?

Motor Trend hasn't tested the G35, either the person that posted it was confussing and estimate in an old issue with an actual test, or was was just mistake. Either case, MT hasn't tested one.

Re: Re: Infiniti g35 Auto Motor Trend

If the car got a 96 mph trap speed, then it definitely can do much much better than a 14.9. 4th gen 5speeds with 96 mph traps do 14.3-14.6 1/4 miles. Considering that the G35 is a RWD (better launch) and auto (more consistent launches), the G35 auto should be able to pull at least a 14.5 1/4 mile, likely low 14's. I see no reason to doubt a 5.9 0-60.

Just look at the stats for the 330i auto, and take a couple 0.1's off the times. That's what the G35 will do. G35 has a little more weight (100 lbs) but a lot more HP and even more torque. Definitely will be a little faster than the 330i. The coupe will smoke it. Tasty.
